1869   Exchange Assembly Rooms believed opened 17th July 1869 also known as "Poole's Assembly Rooms"
           Location:  Flinders St (on site of present Exchange Hotel)

1869  30th Oct  Complaint made to Magistrates by five residents about the upsetting of a lamp in the Theatre. – A counter petition signed by fifty four people was also lodged. The Bench decided that if any further complaint was received it would recommend the withdrawal of the licence.   (ref:  C.B.E.)
